To date, there are four Alternate Modes: DisplayPort, Mobile High-Definition Link (MHL), Thunderbolt and HDMI. This allows the widely adopted USB-C port/connector to be used for more than just USB data or power. In Alt Mode, some of the pins in a USB-C connector are used to transmit other protocols. Functionally, they all support the resolutions and features of HDMI 1.4 onwards.Ĭan a USB-C Port be used to Transmit HDMI to a Monitor? Is there a difference in functionality between the Standard, Mini and Micro HDMI connectors?Īll three connectors have the same 19 pins, but some may have different pin assignments. This means that the cable jacket is fire resistant and suitable to low-voltage in-wall applications. Note: In-wall HDMI cables have a CL2 or C元 rating. A wireless HDMI extender is much easier to install, can be easily relocated and can broadcast a high-resolution video signal to multiple receivers. Longer distances require an active cable or HDMI extender. in-wall HDMI cable or wireless HDMI?Ī cable connection is a relatively inexpensive option that gives a strong, reliable signal but can be difficult to install, it's limited to one location and a distance of 25-50-ft., depending on the resolution. If an HDMI device may be subject to vibration or accidental movement, use a connector with a screw lock. HDMI connectors do not latch like DisplayPort connectors but some do provide a spring mechanism that makes the blade of a male connector grip the receptacle and makes it less likely that the cable will be accidentally pulled out. HDMI keystones are also available for digital signage applications and large conference facilities with many displays that are fed from a central location. HDMI faceplates give a clean, finished appearance and have a female connector on the internal side, making termination easy. HDMI cable is considered low voltage so you can install it inside a wall. If not, you’ll need a separate audio connection. Hook in the DVI end into your computer and the HDMI cable into your TV to see if your video card port is compatible with audio. Just make sure the pin holes in your port will support the cable type you’ve chosen.ĭVI-I-to-HDMI or DVI-D-to-HDMI cables can carry audio, but it depends on whether or not the video card inside your computer supports this transfer. Dual-link connections have twice as much power, leading to an increase in speed and signal quality.īoth DVI-D and DVI-I work fine. But DVI-D is digital, and DVI-I is compatible with both digital devices and older analog devices.ĭVI-D and DVI-I are further broken down by single-link and dual-link capabilities. The old DVI-A is an analog port no better than VGA. Why are there so many different types of DVI?ĭVI has changed dramatically with evolving technology. Which DVI cable you can use with the port depends on the number and arrangement of the pin holes in the port. They aren’t as high quality as HDMI, but most modern DVI are better than VGA. DVI ports are primarily for connecting your computer to your TV.

At about 6/10 mile, the Cataract Trail traverses a long, wooden bridge over the creek, with more cascades visible upstream to the right. The stair-master continues as the path switchbacks briefly away from the creek, then rising back to a spot parallel to the falls. The views of the highest drop are distant but unobscured, making this drop arguably the most impressive on the whole hike. Here the creek tumbles down a narrow chute into a wider, fern-laden passage. View of obscured waterfallĪnother winding stair leads to a fenced viewpoint of what is listed on some maps as the proper Cataract Falls. A wooden fence prevents hikers from approaching the creek’s banks, which are notoriously slippery. The stone and wooden steps continue thereafter, and the trail rises to a taller, 20-foot cascade that is partly obscured by the overhanging bay laurel. Redwoods along the trail Entering Cataract Creek drainage Skirting the first significant cascades Tumbling cascades Here a tributary also converges with the main drainage and is crossed partway up a steep, stone staircase. Stay on the narrower path as it begins to climb more steadily, coming to the first set of significant cascades on the left at about 3/10 mile. From here the path follows Cataract Creek, which boasts an initial set of small cascades down to the right that is popular with photographers. Setting off down the trail Alpine Lake views Skirting an inlet along Alpine LakeĮnjoy the thicker second-growth redwoods as the trail continues southward along the reservoir, and ascend another staircase with a wooden railing, soon coming to the southern end of Alpine Lake. After 1/10 mile, the Cataract Trail skirts a small cove, traverses a short bridge over a tumbling tributary stream, and ascends a short staircase before levelling again. The waters in the southern inlet here tend to be murky but gleam turquoise-green in the partial sun. The reservoir was dammed in 1917 to provide drinking water for Marin residents and today doubles as a recreation area. Note: This hike was facilitated in part by a collaboration with adidas. The parking area is nestled in a lush gully just above the lakeshore, and there are a pair of portable toilets parking-on the road shoulder-can be tight and fills up quite quickly on weekends, so arriving early in the morning (or perhaps late in the afternoon) is a must. However, the preferred option for access to the most impressive stretches of Cataract Creek is to park at the Cataract Trailhead (see map), a sort of makeshift but popular access point along the Bolinas-Fairfax Road, just south of Alpine Dam. There are multiple access points for the Cataract Trail, including the Laurel Dell and Rock Spring parking areas in Mount Tamalpais State Park. Map of Cataract Falls Trail, Marin Municipal Water District, Mount Tamalpais Watershed created using The description below covers a trek from Alpine Lake to the meadows at Laurel Dell, with a short loop portion-combining a portion of Laurel Dell Road and the High Marsh Trail-that features ridgetop views across the watershed. The Cataract Trail (or Cataract Falls Trail) extends nearly three miles from Alpine Lake to the Rock Spring parking area on Bolinas Ridge however, the bottom half is most interesting, and thus the focus of this hike. Along the way-at least in the wet season of winter and spring-travelers are greeted by majestic waterfalls, one after another, and a lush forest of ferns, coast redwoods, tanoak, bay laurel, and Douglas fir. The well-trodden path follows the rumbling waters of Cataract Creek, which originates on the slopes of Mount Tamalpais and terminates at Alpine Lake, a man-made reservoir in the Marin Municipal Water District’s Mount Tamalpais Watershed. THC Contentīoth of the Ice Cream Cake’s parents have above average THC levels, with some growers reporting phenotypes that soar well over 20%. Industrial Hemp Farms NovemMarijuana Strains Comments Off on Ice Cream Cake Strain Review I struggle to say that because there’s so much trauma that is very hard to get away from.ĭo you think Jules’ video is on the flash drive? I don’t look into the future of a character too much. With his confrontation with Cal in the Season 2 finale, is Nate reaching a turning point? It’s impossible not to misunderstand him because he’s never being honest. So he’s deliberately misunderstood because he doesn’t wear his heart on his sleeve. His whole thing is secrets, keeping everything hidden. People are usually quite funny about it, like, “Oh, you’re a scary fucking guy!” I think in public, people are much more sane than on the internet. I don’t read an awful lot, but from what I do read, it’s kind of humbling because if people can’t differentiate, and saying, “I hate this guy”… then maybe that means I did my job well. How does it feel to play a character who evokes such strong feelings from the audience? And sometimes the score makes him sound like a bit of a villain. And yeah, his means are fucking awful and terrible to watch. I think everyone’s in their own trauma and fighting through something. If Rue is the protagonist, I don’t see Nate as the antagonist. Even when it comes down to Jules - it’s because of his dad. Everything he does is kind of relative to his own situation. It’s funny, I don’t even really call him an antagonist, because I don’t see him as like the villain who comes in to ruin the hero’s day. What is your approach to playing Nate, who many view as one of the main antagonists of the series? I think one of the biggest things I will continue to try to learn from him is patience, especially in the face of adversity and in terms of being on a film set. What have you learned from him as an actor? You’ve been involved in some of the most powerful scenes this season, including Eric Dane’s monologue in Episode 4. It was super charged, but actually quite enjoyable to shoot. But he also wanted us to feel comfortable because it’s such an insane scene, so we had to be able to get to where we were going. We had to map out the scene and figure out how we were going to do specific shots that Sam Levinson wanted to do. When we just look in each other’s eyes, there’s a whole season of memories. She has spoken specifically about that scene, and how it took two days to shoot and you both improvised a little.ĭefinitely. Over the years, we’ve done so much intense work together, and we’ve both put our bodies and minds on the line with each other so many times. With Alexa, I know that girl so intimately now. When shooting intense scenes, how do you build trust with your co-stars? I’m thinking specifically of the scene where Nate brings a gun to retrieve the DVD from Maddy (Alexa Demie). Any byproduct of that is kind of to the wayside for me, because it’s like, I’ve got a job to do from then to then. I try to make a conscious decision when I’m shooting, that from the start months to the end months, that’s “Euphoria” time - that’s Nate’s time. Is it easy to snap in and out of the character? He’s got this feeling to him in the first season, and I wanted to disestablish that and remember that I was playing a kid, playing a person, as opposed to a fictional TV character. I wanted to find a new way of playing Nate that would like be exciting to me but also true to the story. I wanted to come back at “Euphoria” as if it was a completely new TV show - like it was essentially a new character. So I think the only challenge was maybe shedding the knowledge that I had of myself and of Nate in the first season. I try to kind of come at everything as a blank canvas. What were some of the challenges going into this season? It’s incredibly humbling to feel like you’re part of something that’s seemingly a big part of the current time. How does it feel to be a part of something so massive? “Euphoria” has done so well for HBO, and is a social media phenomenon. Following the season finale, Elordi spoke with Variety about what happened in between, his approach to playing Nate and why he doesn’t view him as an “antagonist.” And he also addressed some of the rumors of discontent surrounding the”Euphoria” set.
